Ben Lewis | President, Perception,
Inc.
Ben is president of Perception, Inc., a public relations agency
in Maryland that works with professionals and entrepreneurs to
help them receive the awareness and exposure they deserve.
With clients from coast to coast, Ben and his team address all
of the areas of vital strategic communications to best serve their
clients. Ben is also author of Perfecting The Pitch: Creating
Publicity Through Media Rapport (Larstan 2007) - due in
bookstores Summer of 2007.
A lover of dogs and the proud owner of Norman, a lively and loveable
four-year-old yellow Labrador Retriever, Ben is committed to the
mission of American Pet Cross and sees this as an opportunity to
protect those four-legged friends we all love so much.
Brian Carroll
Brian has 10 years of real estate and finance experience. Upon
graduation from law school, Brian worked for a number of years
in the financial services industry. Brian’s expertise is in
residential acquisition and development of lakefront and mountain
properties throughout North Carolina and Virginia. He is a licensed
real estate broker in the state of North Carolina and a member of
the National Association of Realtors. Brian holds a BS in Business
Administration/Marketing from West Liberty State College and a
Juris Doctorate from West Virginia University School of Law.
Stephen M. Filreis | Interim COO, APC
With almost 30 years of business experience as a hands-on
manager, director and C-level Finance professional, Steve
Filreis has a long proven track record of creating, managing
and operating all aspects of a financial organization in a
variety of domestic and international organizations. After
more than 19 years in one of the most widely-respected
finance organizations in corporate America, Mr. Filreis led
the finance team at a start-up company through to its first
significant funding. Since that company’s sale, Mr. Filreis
has focused on consulting companies and the non-profit sector
where his expertise has transformed the financial systems of
a large endowment into an on-line real time system.
Mr. Filreis’ attention to detail, experience working with
high net worth donors and beneficiary organizations as well
as his financial skills and experience will ensure that the
financial operations of American Pet Cross Foundation will
be handled with the utmost of integrity, accuracy and
responsibility and that the stakeholders will have confidence
in the charity's infrastructure. Mr. Filreis resides in
Atlanta with his wife and two children and their pound puppy,
Franklin.
Scott Fisher
Scott has 18 years of finance and real estate experience, and has
overseen the acquisition of millions of dollars worth of development
oriented real estate mainly in the Southeastern United States. He
is the founder of Fisher Investment Capital (FIC), a principal
investor in leveraged buyouts, management buyouts, growth capital,
and worldwide private equity investments. Scott’s experience also
includes time spent as the CFO of a media company and work on a
turnaround of a food manufacturer. Scott holds a BA in Quantitative
Economics from Stanford University and an MBA from the University
of Chicago.
David Moncur | Principal, Moncur Associates
As principal and visionary of Moncur Associates, David Moncur is a true
entrepreneur with a deep commitment to the success of the company and an
even deeper commitment to the values that drive it. Integrity, Innovation
and Intelligence. Since founding Moncur Associates, David has demonstrated
a gift for leadership, guiding the firm from startup to a serious player in
the competitive market of branding, web development, and communication design.
With roots in Silicon Valley, Moncur has spent more than 12 years counseling
clients in the professional service, technology, manufacturing, retail and
non-profit sectors, among others. Moncur Associates still maintains their
successful business relationship with Kelly Services, its first client. A
strong believer in continuous personal development, Moncur is involved in
professional organizations and currently sits on the board of both the
Founders Junior Council of the Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) and the Young
Entrepreneurs Organization (YEO).

Lori
Penea | Medical Director of Animal Medical
Hospital
Lori Pennea, DVM- Dr. Lori Pennea is Medical Director of Animal
Medical Hospital, a Charlotte, NC veterinary practice and teaching
hospital. Dr. Pennea has been instrumental in providing the technical
advice and support in the design and structure of The American
Pet Cross Care Center and The American Pet Cross Rescue Camp concepts
as well as being one of the idea developers of the American Pet
Cross concept. She is a volunteer at Charlotte, NC Animal Control
Spay and Neuter Clinic as well as a contributor of many hours
of personal time and money to the care of injured indigent animals.
She resides in Charlotte with her dog, Ella May Lindy.
Tim Vasko | CEO, CMAEON
Tim Vasko has started several businesses as an entrepreneur,
and also worked as a Professor for the University of Victoria’s
entrepreneurship program. In late 1999, Tim used his PhD research
to start a company called Convergent Media Network. Today that
company is CMAEON - the Connected Market Enterprise On Demand.
Through CMAEON and its subsidiary E-Health Solve, Inc., Tim has
spent years envisioning and building Pharmocracy.com, the world’s
first global medication search engine that help patients, and now
pet owners and care givers, find the medications they need, safely,
securely, and affordably.
Tim hopes to share his insights from his business, technological,
and personal experience to help build the APC Connected Market
Space and Community.
Keith
and Lisa Wickersham | K-9 Ranch
Keith and Lisa Wickersham own and operate Wickersham’s K-9 Ranch
an 18 acre property in Union County North Carolina which offers
canine guests an alternative to traditional boarding that includes
group play time, swimming and movies.
Both Keith and Lisa have a history of community support and involvement.
Lisa spent several years as a volunteer management consultant
at Executive Service Corps of Boston and is currently on the Board
of Directors of the Humane Society of Union County. Keith was
a volunteer fire fighter in Boxford Massachusetts. Their involvement
in animal rescue specifically with the Humane Society and Rhodesian
Ridgeback Rescue was the catalyst to their opening their own boarding
facility. Their facility reflects the type of care they believe
dogs should be given.
