Pet Shelters
The American Pet Cross wants to launch an initiative
around the country to help existing pet shelters everywhere raise
the quality of their facilities, increase their visibility in
the community, and offer increasing alternatives and options for
animals who have been abandoned or deserted. The
American Pet Cross Rescue Camp is a new concept that will
allow the collaboration between land owners, volunteers, and business
owners in the community. Here’s how it can work:
- Land Owners- Many property owners throughout the country do not
want to sell their land, nor see it used for development purposes.
By donating acreage to an American Pet Cross Rescue Camp project
the land owner may be eligible for certain income tax and estate
tax benefits from the donation. In addition it may be possible
to realize income from the donation through a lease agreement
with the American Pet Cross Rescue Camp. Each landowner should
consult their legal, financial or tax advisor before committing
to such a donation.
- Volunteers- Veterinarians, students, seniors, and pet enthusiasts
all have a role in the running and management of an American Pet
Cross Rescue Camp. In addition to providing an incredible benefit
to the community by keeping unwanted or abandoned animals from
the streets and neighborhoods, an American Pet Cross Rescue Camp
offers a chance to learn about animals and their care.
- Business Owners- Many businesses are looking for company projects
that have a DIRECT benefit to the communities where they are located.
An American Pet Cross Rescue Camp allows a business to sponsor
the fund drive, and oversee the construction and development of the camp,
while creating a legacy in the community.
The American Pet Cross Rescue Camp is part of the
SAVE ONE! campaign. Our goal is simple:
To have an American Pet Cross Rescue Camp in every state
and city that wants one in the United States. We have included
a listing of all shelters in America that we could locate. Start
now. Make a donation to those shelters. Volunteer your time. Help
the shelters that are currently working to succeed even more.
You can SAVE ONE!!
