We
Want Your Story for the American Pet Cross "SAVE ONE!" Book
If you have saved one or know someone who has,
send us your story!!!
We will collect all of the stories we receive and evaluate them
to put in our new book. At the end of the review process we will
select the 4 best stories written around disaster, abuse, disease, and
care. We will reward the winners with a $1,000 prize for each of the
category winners.
Here’s how to do this:
- Send us your story (no more than 1,000 words).
- Save as a Word document
and e-mail
it to us.
- Be sure and include
your name, address, phone number, and e-mail
at the top of the story.

SAVE ONE! Campaign™
American Pet Cross wants you to SAVE ONE!
SAVE ONE! is something that everyone can
do...
SAVE ONE ! is something that everyone can manage...
SAVE ONE ! is something that everyone can contribute to...
SAVE ONE is about doing what you can, where and when you can
to help animals who are suffering from disaster
situations, are in need of adoption, have medical or care issues,
or live in abusive situations. SAVE ONE is about MONEY, TIME, ACTION,
and PASSION.
MONEY:
Give one of any denomination of money to American Pet Cross’ SAVE ONE!
CAMPAIGN. Give one dollar, one nickel, one penny, one hundred,
one thousand, or one million towards any situation you want to
help. ONE dollar may seem like it doesn’t matter. But ONE
dollar given by 3 million people does! Give what you can
whenever you can.
TIME:
ONE minute… ONE hour… ONE day… ONE week…
ONE month… ONE year… all add up over time. Give an
hour at the shelter. Give one day to march and raise money. Give
one weekend at a rescue camp. Give one week of vacation to helping
Animal Control. Time is a resource we all can contribute, using our energy as the cornerstone for expressing our passion and commitment.
ACTION:
Take ONE action to help our animal friends. WORK at a
shelter. WALK a senior’s pet. WRITE a letter to your congressperson
about new animal protection laws. REPORT incidences of animal
abuse, HELP animals who are abandoned find homes. GET YOUR FRIENDS
involved. PROVIDE TIPS to law enforcement on dog fighting activities.
SPREAD the word about the SAVE ONE! CAMPAIGN. ORGANIZE a walk,
run, bike ride, barbecue, or car wash for SAVE ONE!
PASSION:
Passion is what moves us and what makes things
happen. Passion is contagious. Make SAVE ONE! a good virus
and let the world catch your passion for animals.
Regardless of our situations, each of us can SAVE ONE. Don’t look to the right.
Don’t look to the left. Look straight in the mirror
and say to yourself, "I am the one who will SAVE
ONE."
THEN GO AND DO IT!
